Renowned New Testament scholar comes home to Reformed Theological Seminary, Dallas, Texas
Reformed Theological Seminary is delighted to announce that renowned scholar of New Testament and Biblical Interpretation, Dr. Greg Beale, is joining the faculty of RTS. Dr. Beale, a native Texan and graduate of Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dallas Theological Seminary, and Cambridge University, has been elected full-time Professor of New Testament at RTS Dallas, adding to a growing campus and an expanding RTS presence in Texas.
Professor Beale has had a long and distinguished academic career, teaching at Grove City College, Gordon-Conwell Seminary, Wheaton Graduate School, and Westminster Seminary. He is a past President of the Evangelical Theological Society. RTS and Westminster issued the following joint statement about Dr. Beale’s transition.

After over a decade of faithful service at Westminster Theological Seminary (WTS) as the J. Gresham Machen Chair and Research Professor of New Testament and Biblical Interpretation, Dr. Gregory K. Beale has been appointed as Professor of New Testament, a full-time position at Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) in Dallas.
The RTS Board of Trustees and Chancellor J. Ligon Duncan III welcome Dr. Beale to this new post, starting on June 1, 2021. In this new role, Dr. Beale will teach various New Testament courses and be part of the young and growing RTS Dallas campus.
The WTS Board of Trustees and President Peter Lillback express deep gratitude to Dr. Beale for his influential scholarship, writing and teaching, along with his life-shaping ministry in students’ lives. We wish him fruitfulness in this new ministry at RTS. Moreover, in view of our deep admiration and mutual affection, we warmly welcome and anticipate Dr. Beale’s periodic return to the Westminster campus in the years ahead for select courses and lectures.
With this transition in view, RTS and WTS will seek to deepen our institutional partnership, as we pursue fresh educational and ministerial collaboration.
