Some of you may have seen this important article over at The Gospel Coalition about the decline and relocation of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) by Collin Hansen, who is a graduate of the school. Reformed Theological Seminary has been friends with TEDS for many years. Over the years, a number of our faculty have done their studies there before coming to RTS, and a number of our graduates have gone on to do doctoral work there. We wish TEDS all the best in this new stage of their institutional life. The last twenty years have been tough for accredited graduate theological education…

Wednesday Evening January 3, 2007 Numbers 1:1-4 “With God In the Wilderness: Introduction” Dr. Ligon Duncan III If you have your Bibles, I'd invite you to turn with me to the Book of Numbers. I would encourage you to bring your Bibles, though. I hope that over the course of our studies of the Book of Numbers you’ll get a good foundation, a good grasp, of this whole book, and that you’ll want to make notes along in your own Bible as we work through the book. Later on this evening I'm going to hand out a rough outline of where we're going in this book as a whole, as well as an overview outline of the larger book. But we’ll hand that out later in this evening. Here is a book, the fourth book of the Old Testament in terms of its literary order; the fourth book of the Old…
The Lord’s Day Morning I Timothy 6:11 “Biblical Godliness” Dr. J. Ligon Duncan III If you have your Bibles, I’d invite you to turn with me to I Timothy 6:11. Let me remind you what we’ve been doing, since we’ve been away from this series for over a month now. Back on October 22, we started a new Sunday morning series. After looking at the five questions of membership to refresh us about the commitments that we made when we joined this congregation as communing members, we immediately went into a topical expository series dealing with the biblical priorities of a healthy local church. We wanted to look at what the Bible sees as the characteristics of a local church which is biblical and healthy in its shape and substance. We’ve had four messages addressing…

The Lord's Day Evening December 3, 2006 John 1:1, 14-18 “Jesus Is God” Dr. J. Ligon Duncan III If you have your Bibles, I'd invite you to turn with me to John, chapter one. Even as on the Lord's Day morning we're going to be working through three Christmas hymns, or psalms or songs, from The Gospel of Luke, so on Sunday evenings during the month of December we're going to be looking specifically at the person of Christ. We’re going to be affirming that Jesus is God,…
