1. Blessed LORD, teach me that the way of blessedness (the enjoyment of the grace, favor and fellowship of God, and thus deep, real, true happiness and contentment) is the way of walking in your instruction with integrity.
1 Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD!
2. By your Spirit, enable me to seek you with my whole heart, keeping your word.
2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart,
3. Help me to believe, as strong as the temptation is not to, that the way of sin and wrong-doing is never the way of blessing, and that blessedness is enjoyed only living in your ways.
3 who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways!
4. Your commands are not burdens but blessings, so grant by your Spirit that I might keep them diligently, by your sanctifying grace, with joy, for your glory and my own good.
4 You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently.
5. By your Holy Spirit, give me a right aspiration for holiness, a grace-wrought desire for godliness.
5 Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes!
6. Give me a love for your whole word and all your commands, even in my blind spots.
6 Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
7. Grant that my life would be built on the basis of your word, and that it would be an act of worship.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous rules.
8. Give me both Gospel resolve and complete dependence on your grace in my life.
8 I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me!
We Rest on Thee
3 We go in faith, our own great weakness feeling,
and needing more each day thy grace to know:
yet from our hearts a song of triumph pealing,
“We rest on thee, and in thy name we go”;
yet from our hearts a song of triumph pealing,
“We rest on thee, and in thy name we go.”
