Messiah’s reign
As we continue to work our way through the fifth book of the Psalms, we have come tonight to Psalm 110, one of the most quoted Psalms in the New Testament. It is referenced at least fourteen times in the New Testament and when it is referenced it is always applied to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In fact, in our study of Luke, we have seen Jesus apply this psalm to Himself as a way of rebuking the unbelief of the scribes. Do you remember when we were studying Luke 20, verses 41 to 44 together, and Jesus asked the scribes if they could answer Him a question since they had been playing “Stump the Preacher” with Him and He had answered all their questions? He came back to them and said, “Can you answer this question? How can David's son be David's Lord?” And He poses them…
