But until last week, we had been studying for a number of weeks the life of Isaac, and last week we began to look more specifically at the life of Jacob together. We had already seen back in Genesis 25, verses 12 through 34 the promise given to Rebekah in the oracle before Jacob and Esau were born that the older was going to serve the younger.
