The last few weeks we have been doing our first studies in the final section of the book of Genesis in chapters 37 through 50 and the story of the life of Joseph. And we've said several times now that two things are important to understand about this section of the book. First of all the story of Joseph tells us how Israel wound up in Egypt, and secondly it explains to us how the promise of God in Genesis 12, verses 1 and 2 was fulfilled to make Abraham's family, a great family though it was, into a nation.
