Tonight our subject is the philosophy, or the non-philosophy, or the anti-philosophy of Nihilism. And many of you know that we've already dealt with this here at First Presbyterian Church. We dealt with it last summer when we were working through the Summer of Solomon and were looking at the Book of Ecclesiastes.1 And the opening cry of that book you see in Ecclesiastes 1:2 — “Vanity of vanities”, says the Preacher, “Vanity of vanities! All is vanity.” And we explored in some detail the cry of Solomon about the meaninglessness of life apart from God. And so there is a real sense in which…
