Praying to Our Father
The Lord's Day Morning January 8, 2006 Communion Sunday Ephesians 3:14-16a “Praying to Our Father” Dr. J. Ligon Duncan III Amen. If you have your Bibles, I'd invite you to turn with me to Ephesians 3 as we continue to make our way through this great letter of the Apostle Paul. We’re going to be looking at verses 14-16 today, but I'd ask you to look at verse 1 first, because we've said all along that the Apostle Paul began this chapter getting ready to pray for the Ephesians. He had started off with the words, “For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles…” and then suddenly this long parenthesis comes from verse 2 through verse 13, in which he seeks to encourage these Ephesian Christians.
