You’ll remember that Paul has been stressing throughout this book that believers are complete in Christ. In chapter 1 he focuses on the supremacy and the sufficiency of Christ Himself. And he says if the believer will understand who Christ is and what He has done, much of the Christian life will fall into place. In chapter 2, we saw him give warnings against five different types of false teachings that were being brought into the church at Colossae. And he warns against them as being out of accord with the truth of the supremacy of Christ, the Lordship of Christ and the sufficiency of Christ.
