Christ Anointed with Oil (for burial!)
If you have your Bibles I’d invite you to turn with me to Matthew, chapter 26 as we continue our study in the gospel. Last week, we began in the first five verses of this chapter, that we had come to as it were the final section of the gospel of Matthew, and everything in this chapter, and some of the material immediately following. As it were a prelude to the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. And so we also noticed the ironies that had been present throughout Matthew’s gospel intensifying when we get here to the account of the final persecution and death of our Lord Jesus Christ.
