We’ll be reading from the sixty-third verse to the end of the chapter as we continue to work our way through the gospel together. Luke is showing us the mistreatment that Jesus endured during the night in anticipation of His trial before the Sanhedrin in the very early morning hours. And he's showing us this for several reasons. First of all, he wants Christians to know what their Savior underwent for them, but he also wants us to know the reason why the council wanted to put Him to death and what the council wanted to entrap Him in.
